A severely undermanned Penrith Under 18s side battled manfully against Manly at Manly on Saturday.
About a dozen unavailabilities left the side with only 16 players to take the field.
This left the side with little chance of winning, but nevertheless every player put in four hard quarters.
While the final result was not a surprise, the players should be extremely proud of their efforts on the day. The Manly side full well knows that with a full side and bench, the Rams would have been an extremely more competitive outfit.
Final scores were: Manly-Warringah 20.18 (138) d Penrith 2.5 (17)
Goals: M. Morgan, A. Henry
Best: L. Gippel, T. Corless, M. Morgan, J. King-Smith, D. Siljanoski, C. Jaworski
