In what was expected to be the match of the year to date turned out to be a Tweed Coast smashing of the Lismore Swans to take top spot of the Summerland AFL ladder.
The Swans had many opportunities to take an early break however were unsuccessful in finding the big sticks on many occassions as Tweed Heads stepped up to a 9 point quarter time lead.
The Tigers took control in the second term opening up the match with a 6 goal to 1 term running all over the Swans. Lismore stepped up in the third and had many opportunities to get back into the match in the third however terrible kicking and decision making made the Lismore side its own worst enemy.
The Swans dropped there heads in the final term as Arnold Knight exploded for the Tigers kicking 6 unanswered goals in a 10 goal quarter to humiliate Lismore at Mortimor Oval.
The Tigers ran away 88 point winners and gave Lismore a real big wake up call. If the Swans are to be a true threat come finals time, the attitude, hunger and desire of the players must turn around. A very disappointing performance overall.
Goal kickers were Wesley Seewald 4, Jak Johnston 3, and 1 each to Dean Webb and Daniel Moloney.
Best on the day were Angus Legoe, Rhys Lavery, Matt Meadows, Daniel Moloney, Lincoln Shinners and Jason Bevan.
Lismore 2.4 3.6 6.7 9.8-62
Tweed 3.7 9.12 12.14 22.18-150
The Swans will need to regroup and turn things around for next weeks encounter with Byron at Shultz Oval Bangalow.
