Its great to have Mark 'Pencil' Henshall back at Noosa this season after losing him to the lure of travel in 2009 when he travelled Canada and Europe with Tim Storrer. Don't know how many landmark's the boys saw if it interferred with partying but pencil reckons that Greece was the highlight of the trip.
Mark started in AFL quite late, in that he joined the Tigers in under 18's and they were his first matches he ever played of our great game. Pretty handy with a golf club and a board under his toes, Mark just rolled along with his mates and now 5 or 6 years later he is still having a kick at Tigerland.
And now that he is back playing with the Reserves (where he has played 60+ games) he is back to match fitness and getting a kick on the wing for Jason Sherrif's side each Saturday.
Away from footy, pencil is a cabinet maker and in moving more into design, quoting and office work than 'on the tools' and still gets out on his board.
Oh and for those wondering - when he joined Noosa one of his 'mates' called him pencil neck and given pencil & henshall rhyme it has stuck.
He's a good bloke our Mark Henshall and we hope he is running up & down the wing at Weyba Road for many years to come.
