Our club’s very first Junior Skills Clinic Fundraiser was a fantastic success!
On Sunday 9th May (Mother’s Day) 102 Primary Age netballers – boys and girls – from around the region participated in our 2010 Junior Netball Skills Clinic hosted at the Golden City Netball Courts, Marong Road.
With great participant numbers, kind weather and the elite players organised through Netball Victoria, namely Shelley O’Donnell – Ex-Australian Player & Kathleen Knott – Melbourne Vixens we had the ingredients for a perfect day!
From 9am-11:30pm our club coaches (assisted by other club players), coordinated skill activities across 6 courts. The junior players in age groups, rotated through the courts working on different aspects of the game – goaling, basic skills – dodging & pivoting, circle defence and attacking. At the end of the clinic, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions of Shelley & Kathleen and take part in a quiz to win some giveaway prizes provided by some of our sponsors. At the conclusion of the day, each participant received a showbag and had the opportunity to have their photo taken with Shelley and Kathleen and to obtain their autograph.
Our clinic could not have been such a wonderful success without the support of our valued sponsors: Bendigo Bank, CVGT, Donut King, Energetic Apparel, Fulton Hogan, Hume & Iser, Leading Edge Music – Kangaroo Flat, LM Dance School, Mitchell St Florist, Nirvana Massage, PH Property, The Victorian Hamper, The Zone Family Entertainment Centre. White Hills Amcal Pharmacy, White Hills Fish Shop. We sincerely thank them for their support of the clinic.
Well done to the Netball Clinic Sub-committee for organising the fundraiser - thank you to Christie Griffiths, Karlie Plowman, Laurinda Sawyer, Laura Stratford, Hollie Frew, Janene Cass, Cherie Walker and Zenda McConnell.
