Great result for the Seniors on the weekend with Spencer Roberts kicking the only goal for the day into the wind - it just happened to come at the 25 minute mark of the last quarter - against the run of play. Yes the wind was a key factor in a hard fought slog against a committed St Bernards outfit but the boys are playing with a lot of heart and are now 2-2. I will leave the full run down to the Oracle who has penned his best (see attached). Al Johnson picked up the BOG award after a stirling effort in the ruck, while the backline was again superb led by the McLauchlan brothers, Pitch and Stowey. Keeping an opposition to only eight goals (again) in any conditions shows their commitment to the cause.
The last quarter was tense to say the least but we are getting used to them! Spencer's goal capped off a fine team effort - Dougy the revelation was great in the last stanza, as was David Comden who made his presence felt.

The Reserves went down again and were let down by another "slow" third quarter. They were well and truly in the game for the other three quarters. There is some definite progress being made here and led by Harro, Pitch, Silly and Sec there is some quality football being played. The guys know that if they keep perservering, the wins will come.
An undermanned U/19s side fought gamely against a polished AJAX side but proved no match really. Scowey was great, winning plenty of the ball, while Spanos was his usual committed best. The boys are up against it at the moment but the spirit still seems quite good.
Bank of Queensland Goal of the Day is shared. Probably the most important was the beforementioned goal from Spencer Roberts but for sheer football ability the goal by Scowey in the U/19s was tremendous. He tackled the AJAX player, collected the ball and from 65 metres out drilled the goals posts from the boundary line. A little ripper!!
The one68 Mark of the Day goes to Dougy who took a telling mark in front of the throng in the dieing minutes of the last quarter. More importantly, he then nonchalantly baulked the man on the mark to send the ball deep into our forward line. And didn't the crowd go wild!!
Punters Club - The newly formed Punters Club got off to a flying start with a win on Broken at Caulfield. This will become a regular home game feature as Peter Mason and crew find those winners. There is even talk of getting the race results on the scoreboard!
Lunches - The next Home Game Luncheon takes place in two weeks time when we take on Old Carey. We will be hosting the Castlefield Middle School and parents. Guest speakers will include old and current AFL players who attended Haileybury College. It will be another terrific afternoon so let me know if you would like to attend.
The Corda Club are having their major fund raiser for the year on 19th of June with their Hypnotist Night. This was a ripper night last year and is sure to blow your mind again this year. $35 gets you a great night of entertainment. More details are attached but if you would like to attend, let me know.
