How did you end up at AFL training?
I got spotted by Ron playing hurling after scoring 2 goals and 5 or 6 points in the gaelic pitches in Wiillawong on St.Patricks weekend. He asked me if I had it in me to play AFL and told me that I would love the physical aspect of footy.
What's the best thing you have learned with AFL?
The best things I learned was how to kick an oval ball, the shepard, the slap on the arse when you're doing well and the tackle!!!
There are a lot more blokes on an AFL team, how do you get on with the Kenmore lads?
This year I had to prove myself more as an older player. The lads looked up to me so I had to change a few things in my game. This year I have learned more about the game and whats on around me. I've improved on my game and hope to hold my place on the first team.
What similarities do you have with AFL and gaelic? Do you still play gaelic?
The similarites would be the postioning of players with only 3 extra players there isn't much of a differance, the high fielding, off the ball stuff, the forward play tactics and playing as a team. I still play gaelic and hurling here on sundays and I play midfield in both. I played for my county u-18 as a goalkeeper and was captain of the Dublin schools team for 2 years and won a flag in my first year at 16!!!
Who is your favourite AFL player?
Barry Hall, Browny, Gary Ablett to name a few and Setanta of Carlton the way he is playing in the forward line is unreal for an irishman!!!
What do you want out of the season?
I want to give 110% for the bears, be in the top 3 or 4 players in every game and not to get sent off which I've achieved already and to win best and fairest award!!! go bears.
What position do you play?
I play centre half back / tagger, I like marking the best forwards its more of a challenage to me and more satisfying as well. I can play in the middle when put in there to get the ball and set it up for the forwards.
Now we all know Lenny isn't really that serious... so we will endeavour to follow this up with some real questions into the bloke we see knocking around at training.
