So Round 1 has been completed and we are already through Round 3,
It has been a long pre-season with lots going on and so there a lot of energy built up was taken out on the weekend.
There were a few talking points, and the most notable was a great start for Ressies coach Busta, who refuses to wear black pants, and further, has people sending out texts for him Saturday morning saying he will be late.
Lukey “i love me” Gemmell has had a bit of a sore throat and hand, and, no he doesn’t have too much time on his hands, just too much talking and writing about himself. Early Tip - get on Luke Gemmell for MVP for 4th Grade paying $1.01.
Carter Mullins, the resigned skipper, has been seen taking a lot more laid back approach and can be seen after training on Thursday’s with his bright white hotel slippers on.
There is news floating around that Goldy will in actual fact be heading back to the Gold Coast in a month to pursue his boxing career and will be playing a few games in the Stevie Wonder League. He still may struggle to get a touch though.
Simon Lawrenson, part time player of the year, has shown that training is important, with a kick into the man on the mark about 30cm out and then arguing for 50! Good work Lawrenson!
Cameron Jefferies, the number “1” son, has survived one game without injury. Centrebet have him paying 200-1 to make it through the season. However, he has been lifting 2kg dumbbells so look out opposition.
“Train Hard, Play Hard” Chappo had a cracker of a first game in 3’s and a goal out at Manly in Round 3, however, the conclusion was made that he may actually need a hearing aid.
Sam “Funky” Millard has been seen wearing various other guernsey’s besides the Crows one, apparently it is stored away in the shed with Lee’s Richmond one – to be brought out for once a year wins.
Photography has taken on a new look this year with the Warriors with some photos from Round 1 showing the Lobaschers taking their last name a bit too seriously trying to “look” tough....odds on winning a fight… ever… 450-1.
Worrying news for the women’s team with some dropouts since pre season. A few causes have been brought forward:
· Nipper not showing off the guns in winter $1.01
· Jockey’s self-styled new coaching techniques 99cents
· Word of Stumpy being on the prowl 50cents
Finally DK has said that Thursday’ training nights will be romance stories night. It seems that this fits well with his and Nate Jackson’s recent romance. We will that know when Nate drops back down to Ressies that there is trouble in paradise.
