Penrith travelled to Camden on Saturday looking for a long overdue win in Senior Grade. Alas, they came away empty-handed but Reserve Grade scored a well-deserved first success for 2008.
Seniors battled to stay in the game, trailing all day, but were still a chance at the final break. But a five-goal Camden haul in the last term sealed a convincing 42 point win for the home team.
Final scores were: Camden 15.15 (105) d Penrith 10.3 (63).
After being battered from pillar to post in most games this season, the Reserve Grade boys showed their mettle with a meritorious 15 point win.
Again, like the Seniors, they trailed all day, but a dominant four-goal final term sealed the result. Well done and well deserved to everyone involved - your persistence and spirit showed through.
Final scores were: Penrith 10.17 (77) d Camden 9.8 (62).
Senior coach Jason Bradley's match report follows:
Congratulations to Jason Makin and his reserve grade side for their first win of the season. A disappointing result for the first grade side. Injuries aside, this was a match that we should have won. Not many players at all really turned up to fight hard for the win. Complacency was an issue as was our disposal which continues to let us down on an ongoing basis.
A few players tried their best on the day in Tate Dimech, Jay Edwards, Dale Chivas & Steve McWilliam.
Not much more can be said at this point in time other to say that if we don’t train we don’t improve and we don’t win.
