The weekend starts with the Haileybury 1st XVIII taking on MGS at Edwin Flack Reserve Todd Road Port Melb (Melway map 56 G2) for the first game of the year. We ran second last year behind StKevins on a countback and we are looking to be up the pointy end of the competition despite a reasonable turnover players. This is the first game for points for coach Stewart Loewe although he has assisting since 2004.
Then on Saturday the U19s are away again at Harry Trott Oval Albert Park where they play Collegians - both teams looking for their first win for the season. After a good first game the coach is looking for even more teamwork to develop.
Also on Saturday the Old Haileybury 1sts visit the new home of St Kevins at T H King reserve off High Street just north east of the Monash Freeway - enter off Estella Street off High St (Melway 59 K9). Both St Kevins teams are highly rated and have won both their games so this will be a big test to see "where we are at". However they will have to be at their best to beat the mighty bloods.
