FINAL PRACTICE MATCHES
We had our final hit out on weekend against east Ringwood on their new ground and greatly appreciated their hospitality. Thanks to Peter Baker.
The games all ended up pretty one sided. Our COLTS had a massive win against last year’s Premier team, but of course Colts teams can change rapidly from year to year. Our boys looked good and ready to play. Graeme Hocking and his crew have done a fine job and the boys up from the U16’s have been terrific.
The RESERVES match was just the opposite, with the young East boys showing too much run for us on the day. We can and will be a lot better the next time around.
The SENIOR game had two quite different halves. East took it up to us to half time and had a 10 point lead and had many Vermont supporters wondering what was going on. After the break, thing changed dramatically with us blasting 9 goals in the 3rd quarter and taking control of the day. Final margin was 40 pts. Matt Greig and David Spriggs both with minor injuries, did not play as did Daniel Mendes who had a work commitment. Goals were got by 10 different players, but the major ones were Froud 6 and Kelly 5. Best (from my view) Dean Kelly, Daniel Papillo, Ash Froud, Tom Carmody, Ryan Mullett, Nathan Henley, Matt Smith
