1. Both the Broadbeach Cats and Football club discpiline committees are in session after committee persons Craig Sinclair (Senior footy club) and Neil Boston (Junior footy club) participated in a "I am a Barbie dance" in the clubrooms last Saturday night. Cheek to cheek, chest to chest, and clearly desecrating the Dayne Zorko bar, both Craig and Bosto have pleaded guilty. Club officials are waiting for the Malthouse case to clear the decks before they mete out punishment.
2. Stephen Milne is a quiet young man committed to his all consuming Catholic faith. He remains an intense but loyal follower of his religion in discussions with AFL colleagues after, and sometimes, during games. Stephen has been in an ongoing debate with Mick Malthouse over church governance issues and at quarter time last Saturday Mick accused Milny as being a "rucking Papist" - clearly Mick meant a roving Papist.
Given the well known support the big fan from the Vatican has for the Saints, Milny didn't take exception. But he did retort that Mick was only sooking up because he was a "cunning gray haired old runt" who had a thing for Paul Licuria, who by the way, unlike most footballers, "kicked both ways". Milny really is a good bloke to note Mick's strategic cleverness and Paul's kicking skills as a younger man, probably developed when he ran with the Sydney Swans.
