Bright sunshine has greeted our players for the opening of the season.
Our Under 18s opening round match against Wollongong was postponed. An intra-club scratch game was played with a good hit-out for all players before their first actual match next week.
Our First Division side have had an encouraging start to their season opener against Wollongong. The Bombers won by 96 points - 17.17 (119) to 3.5 (23).
Our senior Premier Division team is in action against Wollongong. A quick start saw North Shore lead by 17 points at half time - 6.8 (44) to 4.3 (27). A highlight of the opening half was a spectacular leg-break goal from Ben Attwood.
Wollongong weren't going down without a fight, kicking the first goal of the third term to reduce the margin to two goals. But over the course of the third term the Bombers pulled away and at three-quartter time held a 35 point lead. Showing a pleasing willingness to play out the distance, the Bombers kicked a further 7 goals to 3 in the final quarter to win by 64 points - Final score North Shore 20.16 (136) to Wollongong 11.6 (72).
