Week OneThe triple header against Monash provided a great beginning for the club played in magnificent cricket conditions (that’s right, it was hot!!). The Under 19s began the day with a close tussle in which our boys went down by 13 points. The impressive factor of this was that the team went in undermanned and with a number of younger players from the Park Orchards Colts team that helped out and acquitted themselves very well. Thanks very much to Park Orchards for helping us out on the day.
The reserves were able to notch up a win, while unfortunately the seniors went down on the day. Overall it was a great hitout that gave the coaches a good view of work required and the players understanding the need to work closer together. As the games wore on our players gelled together and produced better teamwork – very promising signs for the season ahead!
A special mention to Phil Thompson who umpired the reserves game at extremely short notice, as well as Pete Tatterson and Ben Fisher, who spent the whole (long and hot) day contributing to the teams (including a spell coaching the Under 19s while House was away). Your contributions are much appreciated!!
