The Practice Matches all went well against Pakenham with our players getting a very good hit out on the big ground and we had no injuries. The Seniors certainly turned on the heat in the second half converting a 2 pt margin at half time in to more than 60 pts at the end with many players showing good form. Ryan Mullett was outstanding as he enjoyed the expanse of the Pakenham oval. Other to impress were defenders Dane Andenov and Tom Carmody, Dean Kelly, Daniel Mendes, Nathan Henley, James Rushton and James McClure. Luke Cotchett played his first game for year and quickly demonstrated that his hip operation has certainly given him more freedom to run. Younger boys who did OK were Matt Smith, Michael Rogneda,Travis Bird and Luke Johnson. Regular Seniors not playing were Robbie Ross, Kris Bardon, Tim Johnson and Mark Griffiths.
The Reserves finished on top in a tight battle. Players who stood out were Clinton Jones, Wayne McInerney, Scott Cameron, Tom Mendico, Alex Bull and Paul Quon. Probably missed a few.
The Colts were oustanding showing great pace and ball skills. They are not a big side, but show terriific potential with many of their best players being first year boys from the Under 16's. Three top age boys to watch are Chris Thompson, Xavier Barry-Murphy and Michael Sonsie. Very exciting indeed.
