Both the Senior and Reserves players have been doing Pre Season since November under the watchful eye’s of our new Coach -- Brent Dyer and Assistant Coach – Jason Stevens. With our new coaches bringing a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the club, the boys found the Pre season hard but enjoyable with quite a bit of variety each week. There are quite a few new faces amongst the playing group, most of them young fellows. They are all keen to go and I think we can look forward to an exciting year.
The Reserve’s will again be coached by Dazza, who will be looking for more improvement to try and play in those elusive finals at the end of the year. Hopefully we don’t have too many injuries as player numbers at present are pretty tight.
The Under 17’s also have a new Coaching Duo of Brett Johnson and Macca. Both are very keen to continue the teams success and hopefully go the extra step. I am sure they will bring the best out in the boy’s and if the boy’s follow the coach's advice, they are sure to do well.
We had a Practice Match out at Newbridge last Saturday. The heat certainly tested the boys out, but with plenty of water and rotations, they all got through unscathed. Both the Under 17’s and Seniors had a win, but the Reserve’s struggled a bit with player numbers and could not match the opposition. While there is no 4 points up for grabs, it is still nice to have a win early on and gain some confidence.
Our 2nd Practice Match will be against Wedderburn this Saturday at our own ground. With the ground being in very good nick, and some minor building work nearly completed, the whole complex is looking great and sure to be envied by other clubs.
So with our 2010 Season about to kick off, I wish Bob (President) , Ross ( Secretary) and Danielle (Treasurer), and all the Committee a successful year.
