As you will see, reading both Brett's & Alan's Messages the Club has not been idle over the Summer months; devoting large amounts of time and resources to best equip the teams for the upcoming Season.
For the first time in the Club's history Aquinas will be fielding four teams; with a nice balance of returning Senior Coaches; infused with the inclusion of 'the new blood' - Damien O’Loughlin (Under 19) and Rick Gheller (Under 18) - coaches for our junior teams The inclusion of an Under 18 team, in particular, has added an exciting new perspective to the Club and Rick and his recruited players; support staff and parents involved have already taken the Club, as a whole, to another exciting level.
Coupled with this, the inclusion of new and returning players from other clubs not only offers a large degree of promise on the skill set side; and we welcome these individuals and thank them for making AOCFC their club of choice, but their past experiences playing at other clubs, also brings new ideas and thinking to support our current strong playing list.
To our supporters, if you get a chance, time permitting, please spread your AOCFC time over the four teams. I know our players and coaching staff would echo these sentiments. Four teams almost guarantees a home match every weekend in Ryrie St and while we want you to travel to away games to support our teams also, the list of choices now become even greater. While the teams are yet to play any 'points' games, the 'ramping up' of our Coaching support staff across all teams, should give all our players I hope a higher level of comfort that more experienced personnel will be on hand to assist them in their football development in 2010.
I thank all of those individuals - Assistant Coaches, Runners, Trainers, Medical Staff and other on-field support staff - in anticipation for the time they have committed to in 2010. Finally, to all playing personnel, the Football Department wishes you all the best in 2010. As we complete our 30th year of football as a Club in 2010 we all should be more excited than ever that the quality of individual presenting themselves for team inclusion has not diminished. Reward yourself with success.
