Although he never actually left the Western Magpies Ruckman/Forward Gerard Moore has signed with the club for the 2010 QAFL Season. After playing a key role in the Magpies Pineapple Cup win over PBC in 2008 the talented big man was relocated to the Gold Coast by the then GC17 as part of its TAC Cup Squad. In line with QAFL rules introduced for relocated players Moore was drafted by Labrador where he would be required to play his QAFL matches if not playing in the TAC Cup with GCFC.
2009 as a result was a very frustrating year with opportunities in the GCFC TAC Cup team limmited Greard spent the majority of the season playing in the Labrador Reserves although he did break through for some Senior Games. Following the end of his commitment to the GCFC and the related link to Labrador Moore still technically a Western Magpies player attracted plenty of interest from other QAFL clubs for his services in 2010.
However when all was said and done Moore decided to return to the club where he played all of his junior football and the mates he grew up playing with.
Magpies Club Development Manager Anthony McDonald said,"It is great to have G back in black and white and we are looking forward to having him perform well for the club in a number of roles this season".
Coach Paul Grentell said," I am very excited to have Gerard continue his Senior career at our club after being a Premiership Player with us in 2008 both as a Rucking option and a Key Forward. He still aspires to play his football at the next level which we as a club are keen to help him achieve".
