The Etobicoke Kangaroos capped a perfect 14-0 home and away season by having 8 club members selected to the 2009 All Ontario team on Saturday night at the annual OAFL awards night. A panel of 5 experts had the mammoth task of shifting thru club nominations for the 24 playing positions, 3 coaches and 2 umpires that would make up the best team possible to be esembled.
In the end 6 players (3 Australians/3 Canadians), 1 coach and 1 umpire made the grade. Congratulations to the following players/members:
Travis McKenzie: Center Half Forward 1st time selected
Justin Harris: Center 1st time selected
Luke Lombardini: Intechange 1st time selected
Murray Lovett: Forward Pocket 1st time selected
Adam Jacobs: Back Pocket 1st time selected
Adam Paterson: Interchange 1st time selected
Emile Studham: Head Coach 2nd Time selected
Greg Everett: Umpire 1st Time selected
As well on the night, club General Manager Greg Everett won his 4th consecutive OAFL Umpire of the Year award.
A great night was had by all at the 120 person function that was held at the club's major sponsor the Cool Beer Brewery.
