The Roos turned up on Saturday not at full strength but a team that would take it to any team in the competition. After the Demons finally sorted out their side, it was 17 on 17. A good effort by the Demons not to forfeit. The first quarter under way saw the the Roos dominate straight away with the ball being kicked to Travis McKenzie who ended up with 3 goals for the quarter.
The back line worked overtime with the half back line proving why they are the strongest in the OAFL. An incident with a raised elbow saw Adam Jacobs sit a few minutes on the bench, but he was ok and back to his self in the second quarter.

The 2nd quarter saw the Roos start to steam roll. Travis McKenzie was a dominant force in the forward line leaving the Demons wondering what they could do to shut him down. The engine room was working like clock work with Luke Lombardini, Chippa and Andrew Ford (in his new role) running the ball out at will. Sam Bates controlled things in the backline and led by example by setting up some goals with some laser beam kicks. All the rookie Roos were getting some good and well deserved game time and they did not disappoint . Clinically giving hands off the ground, tackling and shepherding which made stand in coach JR very happy. The Roos were 1st to the ball the whole quarter lead by the likes of Jeff Reid and Tom (DIDAK) Keith who ran through the packs at will.
2nd 1.1.7 7.8.50
The 3rd quarter turned into a training drill for the Roo boys. Chippa Harris, running all day has banged a goal from 60 metres and Travis McKenzie brought back the days of Wayne Carey with a sensational spectacular mark over a couple of Demons players. 2nd and 3rd efforts seemed to be the theme of the day of the day for the Roo boys. Riyad pressured a demons player from the centre square all the way over to the boundary which pleased the stand in coach. Jeff Vance managed a couple of goals and the quarter was capped off with Mikey Clelland kicking a well deserved goal
3rd 1.1.7 14.10.94
By the start of the 4th Travis McKenzie was still kicking goals from everywhere and there were a couple of unselfish plays that led to 2 goals by JR and Andrew Ford. It was the half backs and midfields that started putting the nails in the coffin. Sam Bates was kicking accurately to fast leading forwards, AJ, Logan, Morgan and Jayson seemed to find plenty of space to run and set up plays. In the end McKenzie took a grab and was only 30 metres out when the siren blew. He took his time but seemed to have had a problem on his run up which led to a behind and consequently stopped him from recording the Roos most goals in a game. Congratulations to Travis McKenzie on equaling the club record. And congratulations to the Roos who finish the season undefeated and now make their charge for a second straight premiership.
