The Warriors and The GO Foundation (Goodes-O’Loughlin Foundation) have teamed up to help raise the awareness of the plights of the indigenous communities across Australia. The foundation intends to work to create the next generation of role models across the Indigenous communities.
Michael O’Loughlin, Adam Goodes and James Gallichan, took some time out of their busy schedules to come along to the Warrior’s last training session for 2009 to meet with the players and to introduce their Foundation and it’s initiatives to the AFL Club.
Micky O and Goodsey with Club President Lee Jefferies then spoke to the coaches and players on how the Club along, with the Foundation, will work together to provide opportunities for Indigenous Australians, ranging from monetary donations to providing opportunities for individuals to play AFL with the Warriors in 2010 to also gain education and work/life skill’s through the University, local high schools and businesses within Sydney.
We hope to have 2 kids come down early in the year to start this transition. Lethal then announced the inaugural Business man’s lunch to be held on the 16th April with many personalities coming together to raise funds for this great foundation.
To help kick start this off, the $300 raised from the BBQ after training tonight was donated directly to the GO Foundation
