When next a player is having a whinge about driving to training, spare a thought for Jed Sheridan to who travels 55 minutes from his home in Chatsworth (North of Gympie) to Weyba Road for training.
Born in Yorketown in SA, young Jed moved with his parents to the mining town of Roxby Downs (Copper, Gold, Uranium) where at age 5 he had a kick in the U8's as he learned the game but before too long the family had to move to Chatsworth and it was time to have a kick with the Gympie Cats.
Two & a half years with Pomona led to him joining Noosa in 2009 where he tasted some highs and lows but got to play U18 Finals as well as Senior football under Fletch
His Rep footy involvements have been the combined Roxby U9 Rep Team, the Wide Bay Under 12's and at Under 15 level, the Kookaburra Rep Team.
Jedda also has been busy with other sports and in 2009 represented Australia overseas at Futsal (like indoor soccer but different rules), Rugby Union for the School at State Championship level and Boxing where he has had 11 fights (his first in October 2006 a win at Caloundra) with 6 wins including one TKO
2010 will be a big year for Jed as he finishes Year 12 at Northy State High School at the end of '09 and hopes to start a mechanical apprenticeship as well as trying to play as many Senior games as possible with under 18's still an option too.
Whilst his footy reminds me of a young Jack Rhodes, he is certainly his own man and if his development continues he should become a long term player at Noosa
Its great he makes the effort to come to Noosa to have a kick and he is a popular member at the club so we hope is a part of it for many years to come. Good Luck Jed
