At twenty years old, 186 cms and 80kgs, Matt Roscoe is in the prime of his footy life and looking forward to the challenge of finding a role in the Tigers Senior team in 2010.
Matt comes to us from East Gambier in the strong Western Border League and whilst playing all his junior footy in that area, also has had a kick with Glenelg's (SANFL) under 17's and 19's and trotted out with prestigious Adelaide college - Prince Alfred in their 1st Eighteen's where he kicked 78 goals in a season.
Not that he is a forward - although he is flexible - Matt describes himself as a winger/HBF/Full Back - "anywhere except on the ball" and at 6'2 in the old language should make for a rangy sweeping type at Tigerland next season.
Matt played juniors from 6 years old with the Apsley U8's before moving to West Gambier U12's and finally settling with Easts where he Captained their U14's and U16's and Captained the Western Border under 15's and 16's - he also won the League Medal in the U16 Comp
In 2008 and 2009 Matt played Seniors with East Gambier and even made the intial Western Border Senior Rep Squad in '08 so comes to us with some useful credentials.
Out of footy, Matt is looking for a forklift/stores job (he worked in the Mill at the Mount) and loves watching cricket and hanging with his mates
With Dad living in Buderim and mates living on the Sunny Coast, Matt has taken the opportunity to come up and play under Fletch who comes from the same neck of the woods and we welcome him to Tigerland and wish him well
