To start of an eventful weekend for the Eagles was the usual saturday game at an earlier time this week because of the AFL Grand Final. Coming of the back of a SOLID showing last week against the blues, we started the game against the Bulldogs well, but as per usual we fell away and played flat for the rest of the game resulting in a ugly loss. Some sort of a highlight was Sweaty getting into a fight with the Bulldogs playing mascot and drawing blood. Minor victory. We are still in the process of mending as a team and we will gradually become a stronger team provided the commitment and enthusiasm levels stay elevated. Saturday afternoon was AFL Grand Final time with a function at Fox & Ferret. Eagles won the boat race but i doubt many people knew that this was even happening. There were some good yarns, some moderately good yarns and then there was sweaty and kerry "sucking each others c..." this quote coming straight from sweatys mouth... Anyway due to the excess intake of protein that night sweaty passed out near the mall where he was classified as "not drunk enough for an ambulance ride". The true win for the eagles in the weekend was the sunday forum (piss-up) at Stan Van Chungys house. It was a great team-bonding event. The 1st year eagles had to come up with a new theme song while finishing a crate. After heavy deliberations they returned and delivered a very clever and lippy alternative version of 'hotel california'. After this some chaos ensued when Four "Kanye West" Beers threw a heavily sedated Joel "crate-buster" Richardson of the deck and into a pile of crates. Then the boat races came where Bonkowski held together a divided forwards team by chugging down a jug to put the forwards in the final. This was the last bonkowskis good deeds as he spewed his bacon and eggs on the front lawn then stole a couple of crate bottles and made a scavenger hunt around auburn ave. Four beers chased him down, and probably threw him of some deck considering he was on a war path! Thanks to all the people that helped setup for this weekend and we look forward to some more POSITIVE Eagles times!
Up the EAGLES!
P.S. Included is a photo of the winning team against the Blues last week. We were too lazy for a match report!
