Most exciting news from the AGM was the news of potentially 3 new clubs joining the competition bring the total number of teams to ten. It's very important to notify the new clubs you're intention of interest as each club needs to have a viable number of players to be included as either a development or full-fledged club in 2010.

Our third club is the University of Technology, Sydney
UTS was one of our early clubs that participated in SWAFL in 2002 before folding. Let's hope the phoneix rises again under the wing of the UTS Bats banner, the most successful club according to the Sydney AFL Club Championship in 2009. The women's team is based around the UTS Kuring-gai Campus located in leafy Lindfield.

Let's all hope these 3 clubs and Macquarie University make the transition from dreams to reality, it's great to see that SWAFL expands to encompass all areas of Sydney leading to greater opportunity for women to participate in footy. It's a fantastic effort that should all teams make development or full-fledged status, we would have affiliated 5 tertiary educational backed teams.
