The Country vs Metro rivalry will be continued this year in the VWFL, and will see an added game as part of the biannual match.
The Vic Country vs Vic Metro game highlights some of Victoria’s best and upcoming female footballers.
This year AFL Victoria has expanded the concept to include an under 21 game, as well as the traditional open age game. The Country vs Metro double header will provide more opportunities for players in the VWFL to showcase their skills, with over 80 spots available for the matches to be played at Whitten Oval.
The final teams have now been selected following two training sessions, where players from across all divisions were given the chance to impress the selectors to claim a place in this prestigious game.
