1. WELCOME

Meeting opened at 2000. The Chairman welcomed all in attendance.

2. AGENDA ITEMS:

a) Charity Day

Yesterday was our annual Charity Day held and hosted at Mornington SC. The day was a very pleasing success and we would like to sincerely thank Mornington for their generous effort and organisation. Three very good matches were held with a good attendance by all. All clubs are encouraged to apply to host next year’s charity day and match the success of the day by Mornington SC.

b) Fixtures

Fixtures have been sent out and posted to the website. It is an extremely difficult job putting these together whilst trying to accommodate all club/team requests. If there are any clubs that have major issues with fixtures then please email Dave Cindric with your request and he will endeavour to meet your request. League structures are as follows:

  • Premier League: 8 teams
  • Division One: 8 teams
  • Division Two: 6 teams
  • Division Three: 6 teams
  • Legends League: 12 teams
  • Women’s League: 5 teams (Hampton Park possibly submitting a team)

A week after the team registration cut off – Frankston City withdraw all their teams and Westernport withdraw one of their teams – this affected the final league structure causing some teams to have to move up a division etc. With the movement of teams in and out of the league it has worked out that much of the teams and standards have not really changed apart from the name of the Division in which they are in. Any issues please contact Dave.

c) Passports

A list of players registered on Sporting Pulse will/should reflect what players are registered in our own BFA Database that is used to create and maintain passports. The player invoice distributed to clubs at the end of the registration cut off (late July) is what is used to determine your clubs player registration invoice. All player passports will need to be picked up from AJ’s letterbox and will not be emailed to clubs for them to print this season, unless a club applies to the league, in which a passport/s may be printed for ONE week/game use only – then the passport must be collected as per above. Please check your clubs sporting pulse lists regularly to ensure that your players have registered correctly and included a valid photo.

First group game will be 15th of May - fixtures should be out by 15th of April.

Women’s Cup: first game will be 17th of July (knock out).

e) Fixture Games

With the extended fixtures for Division 2 & 3 – games are now scheduled on Mother’s Day.
All teams will be playing on Anzac Day long weekend.

f) Dual Registrations

Again - it has been bought up for discussion - points regarding our current ruling for dual registered players. The rules are currently (and have been for many years) only 5 dual registered players allowed per club and only 3 on a team sheet. This rule does not include under-18 players and those that are over 35 (but must be only playing in the Legends League). Special dispensation has been given in the past to those clubs that faced specific turbulence in player turnover and enabled them to field a team. To meet the Leagues members concerns it was decided that a vote would be taken to consider allowing the rule to change from 5 to 7 dual registered players being allowed to register but remain as only 3 dual registered players on a team sheet.
A vote was called and was 11 for and 4 against – motion was carried.

g) Charity Day Shields - Legends & Women’s

As we now have shields made up for these two charity day matches – we need to now get past winners engraved on to complete them. Please email us with years and teams as you remember. We are also looking for suggestions for the naming of the shields for both Women’s and Legends. The main charity day shield is the James Verlander Challenge Charity Shield and would welcome suggestions from the clubs for the other two shields.

h) Sporting Pulse Updates

Make sure your sporting pulse has all relevant details up to date ie. Strip colours – home and away.
The fixtures and venues will link shortly. For locations you can go to team tabs and look up ground details. Fixture change requests can be emailed in. Website will soon be updated with our own domain name and website features that will improve the look and feel of the website to look and run more professionally.
