Brisbane City’s newest signing Carter Glockner believes the tutelage of John Kosmina will help him shine under the PlayStation® 4 National Premier Leagues spotlight.

Glockner joined City last week as a replacement for record goalscorer Antonio Murray after turning heads with his performances for Flight Centre Premier League side Eastern Suburbs.

The 21-year-old now has the opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s finest ever strikers in City coach Kosmina, who scored 25 goals in 60 appearances for the national team.

“I’ve always been interested in Brisbane City as a club. Having the opportunity now to come and play here was awesome and I couldn't really say no,” Glockner said.

“I’m sure Kossy (John Kosmina) is going to be an awesome coach.

“I’m going to learn a lot from him and I’m really excited to come here and start learning and trying to progress to the next level.”

Glockner will also be looking to emulate the feats of father Steve, who is held in high regard by City fans after appearing for the club in the old National Soccer League in the 1980s.

The young forward is confident his goalscoring ability will translate to the national second-tier.

“I think the main thing is the service I get. If I continue to get quality passes and chances, I have no doubt I’ll continue to score,” he said.

“I was disappointed (that the match was postponed on Saturday). I wanted to play, I was itching to play.

“But there are definitely positives that the game didn’t go ahead so that I can get more comfortable with my teammates (and) so I can be more prepared for this weekend.”
