Supporters will select the seventeen man PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Under 23 All-Stars squad to face Brisbane Roar FC at QSAC next month.

A total of fifty-five (55) of the state’s brightest young talents will be eligible for selection, with the final squad determined by an online vote on the official PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland website.

The PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Under 23 All-Stars will line-up against the three-time Hyundai A-League Champions Brisbane Roar as part of a double header with the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Finals Series on September 19.

Five players aged 23 or under from each PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland club will be eligible for voting, with the voting process divided into six stages based on playing position.

Nominations will be provided by the senior head coach of each PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland club and Football Queensland State Technical Director David Abela.

Public voting will commence on Wednesday, August 19 and conclude Monday, September 7.

The highest vote recipients in each position will form the Under 23 All-Stars team, subject to availability.

A total of seventeen (17) players will form the final Under 23 All-Stars squad as part of a 4-3-3 formation - two (2) goalkeepers, three (3) defenders, 3 (three) fullbacks, 4 (four) midfielders, 3 (three) wingers and 2 (two) strikers.

All PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland senior head coaches will also be eligible for public vote to guide the team.

Football Queensland Chief Operating Officer Graham Lee said fan engagement was an important element of the Under 23 All Stars concept.

“The Under 23 All-Stars voting process is a great opportunity for the fans to reward the players that have entertained and impressed throughout the season,” Lee explained.

“There was a great response to our previous fan votes in the Supporters Team of the Year, and we anticipate fans will again embrace this more expanded initiative.”

“I am confident that the team ultimately selected by the fans will not only be exceptionally talented, but also provide Brisbane Roar with a competitive pre-season hit-out,” he concluded.
