FNQ Heat has responded well from conceding early to overcome a hard-working Redlands United 3-1 at Barlow Park on Saturday night.

Despite their early-season struggles, the visitors took an early lead with Michael Ryan heading home from a free-kick inside 10 minutes.

Heat responded well and were back on level terms after half an hour as Charlie Beverley converted a penalty.

The home side pushed for the go-ahead goal and got it with 20 minutes to go, with a well-placed cross finding Beverley to head his second into an open net.

The heavy rain slowed the rest of the game down considerably, but Heat added an exclamation point with Christopher Sullivan’s shot from 25 yards sealing the win.

The vital three points see Heat remain in the top four with a host of teams breathing down their neck, while Redlands are still looking to add to their solitary win this season.
