In an open, attacking game of football, UQFC were too strong for the visiting Olympic side. Holding firm at the back, the hosts also collected a valuable clean sheet at this point in the season.

The Lions Stadium was the venue for this Sunday afternoon fixture, which saw the 5th placed UQ side up against the visitors, 8th placed Olympic FC. Olympic were looking to keep the momentum going, after their win in last week’s fixture.

From the beginning of the match, a fast-tempo was the underlying feeling, with much of the game being dictated by the UQ attack. It was evident the home side were set on going home with the three points, undefeated in five games, and only two wins away from breaking the top four.

The drive of the UQ women’s side manifested in the way they attacked the game throughout the entire 90 minutes, Lana Harch and teammate Mariel Hecher both picked up doubles on the scoresheet in an impressive display.

The end result, a convincing 6-0 victory for the hosts, a confidence boost for next week's visit to Western Pride, who currently sit at the bottom of the ladder. As for Olympic, they return home for their meeting with second-placed, The Gap.
