Statement Regarding Lachlan Percy

South West Queensland Thunder have released the following statement regarding the tragic passing of Thunder player Lachlan Percy.

"South West Queensland Thunder are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of talented youth footballer Lachlan Percy.

Lachlan, 17, was involved in a car accident on the outskirts of Toowoomba following the club’s end-of-season awards presentation on Friday night.

Two other occupants of the car were injured in the accident and are currently being treated for their injuries in hospital.

Lachlan was a prominent and well-respected member of Thunder’s Youth Men’s team and made his debut with the Senior Men’s team in 2014.

SWQ Thunder requests that media respect the privacy of all families involved at this difficult time."

Football Queensland extends condolences to the Percy family and the club on behalf of the Queensland football community.
