Northern Fury turns pink this Saturday as the club teams up with naming-rights sponsor Wingate Properties to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

All Fury players from juniors through to the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Senior Men’s side, who host Moreton Bay United on Saturday night, will run out in pink playing strips at Townsville's Brolga Park.

Northern Fury Chairman Rabieh Krayem explained all players purchased their strips as part of the fundraising initiative.

"Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in Australian women and we have some of our volunteers directly affected by this disease," Krayem said.

"The football community is always very generous and players from our junior teams all the way up to the NPL team have dug-deep to purchase their pink playing strips.

"The initiative for this charity game day in aid of the National Breast Cancer Foundation came from some of our volunteer mums and coaches and was immediately supported by our sponsor, Wingate Properties, who immediately jumped on-board."

Fury families and supporters have also had the opportunity to purchase special pink polo shirts and souvenir playing shirts, with $20 from every shirt sold going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

Krayem said the club aims to raise more $5,000 for NBCF.

"All gate takings and money raised by Fury volunteers via game-day promotions, raffles and donation boxes is also going towards the fight against breast cancer," he said.

Northern Fury teams begin from 11.00am at Brolga Park ahead of the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Round 10 match against Jets.
