Giggins, the hero, as Gold Coast City run out 3-2 victors against South West Queensland Thunder at Clive Berghofer Stadium on Saturday night.
The visitors started strongly, with a chance in the first few minutes, before Teleya Reynolds was gifted with the side’s opener by Thunder keeper Hollit to make it 1-0.
Responding to their slow start, Thunder reversed the deficit through forward Melanie Lloyd who scored and later turned provider as the home side made it 2-1.
But this proved short-lived as Gold Coast, through Teleya Reynolds and Alana Giggins fired two goals in quick succession, killing off any chance of another Thunder comeback.
The win means City draw level with Thunder on fifteen points before another tough fixture against Easts next week.

25' - Goal to Gold Coast - Ball crossed from the left by Emily Benton into the Thunder 6 yard box which was palmed away by the Thunder Keeper falling to the feet of a waiting Teleya Reynolds who taps it past Hollit.
35' - Goal to Thunder - Melanie Lloyd takes a driving run to just outside the 18 yard box takes a snap shot that ended up in the Gold Coast net, top right hand corner.
58' - Goal to Thunder - Louise Rolfe takes a driving run down the wing and centres the ball which is collected by Melanie Lloyd and put past the keeper.
78' - Goal to Gold Coast - Driving run by the Gold Coast down the wing, shot is taken which is not gathered cleanly by the Thunder Keeper the ball drops to Teleya Reynolds who slot it past a diving Liz Hollit.
82' - Goal to Gold Coast - Driving run down the wing by Alana Giggins who takes a long range shot which floats over the stretching Hollit into the back of the Thunder Goal.
