Brisbane Strikers have moved to within one point of ladder leaders Gold Coast City with a come-from-behind 3-1 win over Brisbane Olympic on Tuesday night.

Olympic led for a large portion of the match before three second-half goals in seven minutes secured the Strikers eighth win of the campaign.

Kayuza Ito opened the scoring after just 13 minutes for the visitors following incredible work in the lead-up by Costa Psaros.

Matthew Heath had a prime opportunity to double Olympic’s led from the penalty spot, but had his original attempt saved before miscuing with the follow-up.

Jeremy Stewart equalised for the hosts with 20 minutes remaining before Gregory Cheshire put the Strikers in front just three minutes later.

Four minutes later and the Strikers were in dream land as Jake McLean opened up a two-goal advantage which they held until the final whistle.

The Strikers now have the chance to potentially steal top spot this weekend at home against Western Pride, while Olympic need a win against the Young Roar to keep face with the league’s top sides.
