Peninsula Too Powerful For UQFC

Peninsula Power Women continued their unbeaten start to the season, defeating UQFC Women 3-2 at CJ Greenfield Reserve on Sunday night.

UQFC were out of the blocks quicker, with Tegan Lynch running onto a beautiful ball and crossing to Mariel Hecher, who calmly converted.

Settling into their rhythm, Power then hit back through Annie Evans, who scored a brace with goals either side of halftime.

Despite a late flurry from UQFC and a goal to Lana Harch, Power ran out the victors with Brooke Barbuto ensuring a 3-2 victory following some individual brilliance.

UQFC travel away to play Brisbane Olympic Women next weekend, while Power host The Gap Women in a top-of-the-table clash.
