One former PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland star turned Brisbane Roar first-teamer could see the makings of fellow young hopefuls when SWQ Thunder take on Young Roar at Suncorp Stadium this Saturday.

Queensland's top tier will be on show at the state's premier sporting venue for the first time as part of a blockbuster double-header.

Following the exciting PS4 NPL Queensland encounter at 4.10pm, Brisbane Roar's Hyundai A-League side will meet Melbourne Victory in a crunch home clash.

Stanthorpe junior Cameron Crestani will hope to be involved in the headline fixture after breaking into John Aloisi's matchday squad this season.

The defender's sudden step into the spotlight follows four straight years of honing his game against senior players in PS4 NPL Queensland, first at the QAS and then with Young Roar.

He's now established as a reliable option at the back after four appearances across the Hyundai A-League and AFC Champions League.

"I was just focused on doing my own thing then a few injuries popped up and all of a sudden, there I am playing first team football," Crestani told the Toowoomba Chronicle.

"In the next couple of months I am hoping to seal my future here at the club (Brisbane Roar) and get a contract with the A-League squad."

Having emerged from the same region as the Toowoomba-based Thunder, Crestani's story should serve as inspiration to what remains a youthful squad.

Fernando Garcia's side are yet to fire this season after registering a promising eight victories last term.

The likes of Keagan Sheridan, Tom Fanning and Mustafa Jafari have all gained considerable experience in recent seasons and will be among those hoping to shine on their biggest stage yet.

"If you've got the drive and the heart to do it - as well as the support around you - never stop trying, never stop chasing your goals no matter what happens," Crestani added.
