Souths United Women got their PlayStation 4 NPL Women's Queensland season off to the best possible start with a comfortable 4-0 win over Western Pride Women at AJ Kelly Park on Sunday.

Three first-half goals set the tone as Souths seek to build on last year's second-place finish.

Western Pride produced a more competitive second half but were unable to contain the likes of former Brisbane Roar star Elise Franco, who opened the scoring inside 10 minutes.

Jodie Burchell, Deeanna Thompson and Ella Goodman joined Franco on the scoresheet to complete the victory.

Souths will look to go two in two when they host UQFC next Sunday, while Pride return to AJ Kelly Park to take on Peninsula Power Women.
