Strikers Clarify Hyundai A-League Push

Brisbane Strikers FC Chairman Bruce Atterton-Evans has clarified recent reports concerning the former National Soccer League club's ambitions to return to the top tier of Australian Football.

The current PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Premiers are just one of several potential bidders across the country vying to get the nod in an expanded Hyundai A-League competition, but have confirmed there is a long way to go before the club is ready to take the step up.

 

 

GCC Announce Key Signings

Gold Coast City FC's preparations for 2017 are well underway as they seek to improve on last year's second-place PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland finish and early Westfield FFA Cup exit.

They've announced the return of skipper Justyn McKay and fan favourites Benji Lyvidikos and Daniel Dragicevic for the upcoming campaign. They have also bucked the trend of southern departures to lure attacker Jacob Boutoubia to the club from New South Wales' outfit Sydney Olympic FC.

 

Fire Signings Are Looming

For Sunshine Coast FC there are no signings on deck quite yet for 2017. However, recently appointed coach Roger Hardwicke says there has been no shortage of interest from players looking to impress in the national second-tier.

Fire are expected to announce their first signings for next season in December.

 

 

Sunny Coast Stadium Expansion

It has been announced that Sunshine Coast Stadium - home ground of Sunshine Coast FC - will increase it's capacity to approximately 10,000 following a revealed upgrade.

Works planned include family friendly hill viewing areas, an LED replay/score board and altering the configuration of the playing surface from an oval to a rectangular shape.

 

 

Young Roar Take Confidence To Perth

Brisbane Roar FC Youth head into Round Two of the Foxtel National Youth League riding high after a stunning three-goal comeback salvaged a draw against Melbourne Victory Youth in their last start.

Head Coach James Robinson paid testament to his side's resilience but lamented the lapses that saw his side concede twice in the opening ten minutes.

 

City Boys Advance On Pathway

Brisbane City FC is spruiking call-ups for four of its junior players to the Brisbane Roar National Training Centre (NTC) as a shining example of their role in Queensland's talented player pathway.

The quartet - Jordan Courtney, Oliver Plusnin, Theo Karenzo and Ben Braunstorfer - were all part of the club's PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland U14 Boys team in 2016 and will now be part of the NTC Challenge in December.

 

Redlands See Key Duo Depart

Staying rather quiet on the media front are defending PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland 2016 Champions Redlands United FC.

However, PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria outfit Port Melbourne SC have announced the capture of their 2016 captain Michael McGowan and goalkeeper Brendan White.

 

Strikers Midfielder Heads To Victoria

Another player lured south by those eagle-eyed PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria scouts is Brisbane Strikers' midfield star Trent Clulow.

Clulow - who banged home 18 goals in 47 games for Strikers over the past two years - has signed for Bentleigh Greens, which is also now home to former Strikers fan favourite Matt Thurtell.
