Reyze Kelly and Jacob Fulluck will put sentiment aside when they line up for Moreton Bay United against Sunshine Coast FC for the first time this weekend.

The duo were amongst three Fire players lured to Wolter Park during the off-season as Jets sought to cover key departures from last year’s Grand Final winning squad.

Both were stand-outs in a tough year for Fire in 2015 – Kelly guiding the team as captain and Fulluck topping the Fire’s goal scoring returns – and both conceded it will be a slightly strange feeling to take to Sunshine Coast Stadium as part of the away team.

“It will be a bit weird in the away changing room. I’ve never been in there before, but you know what, it’s alright,” Fulluck explained.

"I just hope we put in a good performance and walk away with the points.”

Fulluck struck his first league goal for Jets last weekend in a 6-1 demolition of Olympic FC and said he was eager to add more this weekend.

“I feel I’m settling in and getting some form under my belt,” he said, “getting my first goal for Moreton Bay United was great. Another one this week would be good.”

“I was a main striker last year and a target man. This year I’m in a few different positions. It’s a lot different how we play in the final third, but I like it. I like the challenge.”

Kelly has also had to adapt to a different role at Jets after making the transition from winger to fullback this year.

“Playing right-back under coach Dave (Harris) and (technical director) Adam (Piddick) you still get to go forward a lot. There is a lot of work involved, but it is worth it,” Kelly explained.

“I don’t think I’ve played my best yet. It’s been a bit up and down in terms of niggling injuries and I definitely have a lot more to show right through the season.”

With that in mind, Kelly said he will be holding nothing back against his former club as he seeks to help Jets become the first Queensland club to win back-to-back titles in the PlaySTation 4 National Premier Leagues.

“There are always going to be feelings when you play against your old club, but it’s another game where we want three points.”

“The confidence is coming back (after defeats by Brisbane Strikers and SWQ Thunder). But we’re past that - looking forward."

“We know the results we need. We want to win the title,” he concluded.
