Six different scorers shared in the spoils for Moreton Bay United as they handed Olympic FC a club record 6-1 defeat at Goodwin Park.

Royce Brownlie, Taiga Ishikura, Scott Stewart and Jonathan Marraiya struck during a blistering first half that all but wrapped up the points for the visitors, before Jacob Fulluck and Jackson Hall iced the result in the final ten minutes.

Olympic flirted with a fightback midway through the first half via Liam O’Bryan but ultimately proved unable to contain Jets multiple attacking outlets.

The win is Jets first in four matches and moves the defending Champions back into the top four.

The result also furthers Olympic’s early season woes – extending their club record losing run to five matches and eclipsing their 6-3 defeat at the hands of Northern Fury in 2013 to become their PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues largest losing margin.

Key Moments

17’ – GOAL FOR JETS – Jordan Farina squares a ball from the edge of the area into Royce Brownlie, who converts a neat finish from close range

26’ – GOAL FOR JETS – Royce Brownlie lobs a pass to an unmarked Taiga Ishikura at the back post with the winger lashing the finish into the bottom corner from ten yards

39’ – GOAL FOR JETS – A corner causes confusion in the Olympic defences resulting in Scott Stewart heading home from point blank range

45+1’ – GOAL FOR JETS – Effectively the last play of the half, Jonathan Marraiya executives a perfect solo counter-attack that sees him streak downfield before burying the finish

67’ – CHANCE FOR OLYMPIC – Scott Bow puts his boot through a ball from outside 25 yards but his effort is denied by the crossbar as Matthew Stein watches on

86’ – GOAL FOR JETS – Substitute Jacob Fulluck springs Olympic’s lines a calmly slots past goalkeeper Nicholas Mooney from inside the penalty area

90’ – GOAL FOR JETS – Scott Bow’s challenge concedes a penalty inside the area allowing Jackson Hall to convert with the ensuing spot-kick and ice the win

What They Said

“We created chances last week and didn’t finish them. So this week we continued to create more chances and the more chances you create then the more goals you score.“ – Royce Brownlie, Moreton Bay United FC

“You can see the experience in regard to Moreton Bay’s performance but, let’s be honest, they wanted it a bit more than us tonight. Any team that wants it more than the other is going to come away with the result.“ – Ramone Close, Olympic FC
