Gold Coast City delivered a final pre-season warning to the rest of the competition with a comfortable win in their final pre-season match.

City Hit Olympic For Six

Gold Coast City ramped up for their PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues campaign with a 6-0 rout of Olympic FC in the final pre-season hit-out for both sides at Duncan Mcagain Kenna Field.

City impressed from the early stages but didn’t break through until near the half hour when Lyndon Dykes sprung Olympic’s off-side trap to slot the opener.

Midfielder Ben Litfin doubled the advantage before half-time by also getting in behind the defensive line – rounding the goalkeeper to create a simple finish.

Riley Dillon put paid to any thoughts of an Olympic fightback shortly after the restart when he delivered an opportunistic lobbed finish after winning possession in a dangerous position

City then stormed home with three further goals in the final quarter hour – Morgan Saunders continuing his impressive pre-season form to seal the win before Zamin Tselepy converted from a Daniel Dragicevic cutback.

Fraser Ella then rounded out the result in the final minutes.

Gold Coast City open their PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues campaign on Saturday against Redlands United when they return to Duncan McKenna Field.

Olympic will close out the round on Sunday when the host FNQ Heat at Goodwin Park in Brisbane.

Gold Coast City FC  6 (Lyndon DYKES 23’, Ben LITFIN 34’, Riley DILLON 50’, Morgan SAUNDERS 75’, Zamin TSELEPY 81’, Fraser ELLA 86’)
