Brisbane City have confirmed the return of Luca Jannese and Koh Satake for the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland 2016 season.

The duo are the latest signings for City coach John Kosmina as he seeks to return the 2013 Grand Finalists as a PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland force following two seasons without finals football.

22-year-old fullback Jannese has been an ever present for City since the first season of PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland – amassing a club best 64 league appearances in the past three campaigns.

Part of the 2013 team that lost the Grand Final to rivals Olympic FC on penalties, Jannese said he believes City is assembling a squad that can return to to the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Finals Series next season.

“Our aim is a top four finish. We will look to do that first and then see what happens afterwards but I definitely think the squad is there to achieve that,” Jannese explained.

With six new players already announced for next year’s team, Jannese said the increased competition for places in the starting eleven can only benefit the side.

“Competition is always good. I’ve played against most of the new boys before and it’s nice to be on the same team now and it will drive us to be better,” he explained.

“It will make the coach’s job harder, that’s for sure, but it’s a problem that you want to have,” Jannese concluded.

While Janesse will further reinforce City’s defences, Satake’s signing boosts City’s attacking stocks after becoming a regular contributor in 2015.

His haul of five goals last season was punctuated with a hat-trick in a PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland club record 9-0 win over SWQ Thunder in the team’s final contested fixture.

City have also confirmed two further departures from their 2015 squad with Jay Joo and Chris Toovey not returning for next year’s campaign.
