Honours Shared At Jets Awards

Defenders Alex Henderson and Scott Stewart landed two of the top awards as Moreton Bay United celebrated their most successful season to date on Saturday.
Henderson won the Coach’s Award and Stewart the Players’ Player, while midfielder Liam Previtera was also recognised with the Best and Fairest Award.
The centre-half partnership of Henderson and Stewart proved the cornerstone of a season that saw the Jets claim their first PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland silverware - winning the Premiership-Championship double in only their third season.
Stewart, 24, played all 23 matches in his first Jets campaign and said he was honoured to receive the recognition of his teammates for his contributions.
“Getting votes from your peers is quite an amazing feeling. It was a great squad to be part of, knowing everyone had your back,” Stewart said.
Henderson, 23, conceded he was shocked to receive the Coach’s Award decided by Adam Piddick.
“I had no idea it was coming. I was surprised when it was announced, but I’m also very grateful,” Henderson said.
Previtera, 24, proved a quiet achiever in the Jets’ engine room in his first PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland season despite amassing 21 appearances.
He said it was a “great honour” to receive the Best and Fairest award in a squad of proven talents.
“It was the best season of my career. Winning the double and going out at the semi-finals of the national competition was a huge experience,” Previtera explained.
“Hopefully I’ll stay at Moreton Bay and go on from this year. Winning the Premiership again would be nice,” he concluded.
Also amongst the awards were veteran striker Royce Bronwlie and midfielder Matt Capelo, who were recognised as Club Person of the Year.
Brownlie also received the club’s Golden Boot for the third straight yet as he lifted his career PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland goal tally to a league record 64 goals in 66 appearances.
Youth Men's players Joseph Champness and Matthew Sanchez, who also contributed to Jets senior campaign, were also amongst the award winners across the club's youth and junior teams.
