Recently appointed Olympic FC Technical Director Joe Fenech has outlined his future vision - become the best football club in the state.

In a strategic plan released on the Olympic FC website, Fenech said his tenure will see the club continue to build on the past three years of growth within PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues competition.

Olympic have proven a powerhouse in senior competition since the launch of PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland in 2013 - winning the inaugural Premiership-Championship double and qualifying for the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 in 2014.

Fenech, who previously served in coaching and development roles at CQFC Energy, FNQ Heat and SWQ Thunder, said while impressed with what Olympic have achieved so far, continual improvement will continue to serve all those involved with the club.

“We must deliver to both the demands of the community clubs in our catchment area and our vision in becoming the best football club in the state,’ he outlined.

“To achieve this we must work toward having the best teams, the best facilities, the best player development, the best coach development, the best in everything we do.”

“To date Olympic FC has delivered significantly but it is my view that as a club we need to keep everyone engaged with a view that ‘when better is possible, good is not enough’.”

He expressed the need to provide first class coaching services that can support high volume of development and elite players in both PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland and community competitions.

He also stated an essential part of his vision will be revising club culture and organisational structures and recruitment strategies.

“It is intended that during my tenure I contribute toward a shift that I think is vital,” he explained.

“That shift is an aim of becoming more self-sufficient in terms of funding to ensure that the facilities and services meet the expectations of club members and that the ongoing operations and maintenance are sustainable and independent of annual registration fees, while having the ability to meet compliances.
