Two of The Gap's Grand Final heroes believe the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Women's Select squad have the ability to match it with Brisbane Roar in Sunday's friendly.

Midfielders Leah Curtis and Jess Dillon, who both boast Westfield W-League experience, will be part of the 17-player outfit set to take it to the two-time national champions at Goodwin Park.

Curtis spent time with Roar in the formative years of the Westfield W-League and expects a competitive clash against her old side.

"It's a very good-looking squad. Many attacking players I've noticed which might add something a little bit dangerous against the Roar," Curtis said.

"I think the quality has definitely stepped up in the past year or so in this top league for women below the W-League.

"If you have quality players hopefully most will be able to gel and mould and adapt in a game situation better than other players might."

Despite taking on a number of current and former teammates - and close friends - Curtis expects a healthy level of competitiveness.

"I love a challenge. I look forward to having a good hit-out and giving the Roar girls a good run for their money," she said.

"I think it's a great initiative Football Queensland have taken."

Gators teammate Dillon (below) agreed with Curtis' assessment of the Select squad's prospects, tipping a shared playing style to prove important.

"A lot of the players that are in the team, we all play similar football which is a passing game," Dillon said.

"I reckon we will gel well and I think we can come together and pull it off."

Dillon can call on recent spells with Perth Glory and the Toronto Lady Lynx as she aims to adjust to the step-up of taking on Westfield W-League opposition.

The 20-year-old has since returned to Queensland to become a mainstay of Rob Askew's midfield at The Gap and is targeting Sunday's match as a chance to impress Roar coach Belinda Wilson.

"Obviously (I want) to enjoy it, but also to perform my best against what we call the best players in Australia. See if I can prove myself against them," she said.

"It would be great if she (Wilson) did see something in me. I'm not going to leave anything on the field - I'll work my butt off."
