Premiership winning Moreton Bay United goalkeeper Luke Borean says home ground advantage will be crucial in their PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Finals Series tilt.

Jets host fourth-placed Olympic FC in a Semi-Final at Wolter Park this weekend, with a win securing a first-ever Grand Final appearance in only the club's third season.

With honours split in favour of the home side in two previous PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland meetings with Olympic this season, Borean says his team will have the advantage.

“We haven’t lost a game at home yet. It’s a pretty hard field to play on and not many teams have been able to adapt to the surface and the way we play and with our support,” Borean explained.

“It’s a huge advantage to us as a team and if we can be beat Olympic then it will also be important in the Grand Final.”

Borean said spirits were high in the team after the cancellation of their final regular season match saw the club earn its first Premiership title.

“The feeling is pretty good in the squad after the sensation of being Premiers. We had a few celebrations at training but the focus is now on Olympic.”

He said lessons had been learned after Olympic prevailed 4-2 in their previous meeting at Goodwin Park in May.

“That was our first loss of the season and we didn’t really come into the game focused and there was a bit of complacency,” Borean conceded.

“We’ve really changed our focus since then and training has been a lot better since that loss and the next couple of losses that followed.”

Borean started all 21 games of the Jets regular season campaign, recording five clean sheets and conceding a miserly 25 goals.

However, he said he wasn’t concerned that the limelight has primarily been on his outfield teammates this year.

“It’s good to be performing week-in and week-out but in the end we play a team sport.”

“On certain weekends some players will have an extraordinary game and their names get mentioned but as a whole as a team we have done well - especially the backline who’ve helped stem the goals,” he concluded.
