Three young PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland talents are among Tony Vidmar’s latest U16 National Team training camp to assemble in Canberra on Thursday.

Brisbane Roar U18 Boys players Wilfred Armand, Callum Harris and Oliver Duncan will take part in a three-day camp at the Australian Institute of Sport as Vidmar examines his options for the upcoming AFF Under-16 Youth Championships.

The Joeys coach, capped 76 times for the Socceroos, will lead the team in Indonesia as a precursor to September’s AFC Under-16 Championship qualifiers.

This camp will give us the opportunity to assess some players that we couldn’t bring in to our February camp,” Vidmar told footballaustralia.com.au.

We’ve also invited some players back to have another look at them.”

Armand and Roar teammates Jesse Gibbs, Alex Parsons and Lachlan Sayers were all part of an initial February camp, the first of five.

Each Queensland player joined Roar this season after learning their trade at fellow PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland clubs.

Western Pride produced Armand, Harris and Parsons played together at Olympic FC, Oliver Duncan and Jesse Gibbs did likewise at Sunshine Coast while Lachlan Sayers is a former Brisbane City junior.

All are now striving to impress as the lengthy qualification period for the 2017 U17 World Cup gets underway.

It’s a good chance for these players to impress, ahead of our team selections for the AFF U16 Youth Championships and AFC U16 Championship 2016 Qualifiers,” Vidmar added.

The next Australian U16 National Team training camp will be held from April 20-22.
