Pride Down Lions In Friendly

Words: Michael Flynn

Western Pride ramped up their pre-season preparations with a solid 2-1 win over Lions FC in a pre-season friendly at Briggs Road Complex on Tuesday.

Christ Scott and Lincoln Rule scored either side of half-time for Pride to record the club’s third win of the pre-season.

Lions saw their share of chances early in the match but proved unable to capitalise before Scott gave Pride a single goal advantage at the break.

Rule doubled the lead on the hour with Lions only replying in the final minutes through Matija Simic's lobbed finish.

Pride continue their pre-season preparations against Football Brisbane Trophy Superstore Premier League side Albany Creek Excelsior on Friday at Lions FC Stadium in the BLK Silver Boot competition.

Western Pride FC  2 (Chris SCOTT 32’, Lincoln RULE 60’)
Lions FC  1 (Matija SIMIC 87’)
