Late Shark Attack Fells Swans

Palm Beach SC

Words: Michael Flynn

Palm Beach SC scored twice in the final minutes to defeat Maroochydore FC 4-2 in their pre-season Macron Cup game at Dalton Park on Tuesday night.

Sharks opened the scoring through Rees Duncan - his fourth goal of pre-season - before Swans pounced on a pair of defensive mix-ups to edge ahead of their more fancied rivals prior to half-time.

Returned Shark Roman Hofmann, who has spent the majority of the past year with Newcastle Jets' Foxtel National Youth League team, saw a penalty saved in his first run for Sharks this pre-season midway through the openign stanza.

However, the defending Macron Cup and PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Champions bounced back immediately after the restart as Daniel Grzic benefitted from a neat combination in the centre of the park to draw Sharks level.

The telling goals came in the final minutes as Adam Endean scored to send Sharks ahead, before skipper Justyn McKay delivered a well-placed shot into the top corner to seal the come-from-behind win.

Sharks continue their Macron Cup pre-season campaign on Saturday against fellow PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland side Sunshine Coast FC at AJ Kelly Park in Redcliffe.
