Redlands Run Riot In Silver Boot

Redlands United went on a goal-scoring spree on Saturday, defeating Albany Creek Excelsior 8-0 in the BLK Silver Boot at Lions FC Stadium.
Young attackers Mitchell Bird and Jayden Prasad netted three goals a piece for the Red Devils, while Eliott Ronto also chipped in with a first-half brace.
Prasad opened the scoring ten minutes into the contest finishing into the bottom corner.
Ronto struck twice in a matter of minutes to effectively seal the win by the quarter hour - his second goal a result of miscued clearance from the Excelsior goalkeeper.
Igor Sao Jose picked out Prasad at the back post for his second, before Bird added his name to the scoresheet shortly after.
The goals continued to rain in after the interval as Prasad sealed his hat-trick inside the hour.
Bird struck twice more to settle the eight goal margin, with Excelsior, who compete in Football Brisbane’s Trophy Superstore Premier League competition, unable to fashion a reply.
The Red Devils continue their pre-season preparations against Mitchelton FC on Friday night in the final group game of the tournament.
